The camp thread made me think, wouldn't it be cool to hire a gallops and a few of you go? You know, just really open them up
smile.gif
and let em GO. I have never been on one but they must be lush?

Is that a mad idea or would anyone on here like to and if so are you near me??

I'm hoping to this summer! There's some justdown the road from us, so going to make a day of it soon as the weather's nicer

I'm North Wilts [I think? 20mins from swindon lol] so might be a bit too far from you?

I would love to do that, would really blow the cobwebs away
laugh.gif

I'm not to far from you (Hereford way) but it would blow my horses brains if I took him to the gallops!

Oh WOW not a mad idea!! Cool!!

Hehe I would drive for at least an hour to get to one. There is one nr Bristol, Pritchard's place at Purton I think? Will find out

I just think it would be really ace. They'd be excited to be out, wouldn't know each other so clearly something exciting

and would love it!!

Binky N Wilts not that far? Swindon is an hour.

3Beasties but it wouldn't matter because you can let him just go woo hoo!!

Jasper Worcs is about an hour! Will find out re gallops

sounds fab, we have beach near to just let em go, gallops would be better though,

I cant take my mare it wouldnt just blow her brains it would frazzle them lol, taken me 6 months to calm her down after a quiet first hunt lol i'd be ok if we were on our own, would love it then !!!

I would love it - I never let my mare go because it takes miles to pull her up, so I'd love the chance to let her.

I'm Kent but if anyone else near me fancies it.....

Oooh cool! We have to have a mix of horses and I think we would have?? I.e. I don't want it to be me (suffolk x!) and a load of TBs, with a proper fast TB he gets left standing and it's no flipping fun on your own lol!!

I think it would be a brill laugh.

Yes Ziggy me too, and mine is so flipping much nicer when he's had a blast!

I have emailed my friend who works at local racing yard to ask her which ones she knows

yes they will flaming love it!!

My friend got back to me saying she could ask her boss (Slad, Stroud) if I want to hire their gallops. I know he has a few types, think he may have a long grass gallop too, rode through his place once. Who is near enough for that??
smile.gif

Meant to say too, the other thing about it that is cool is that it is so cheap!! Compared to anything else you do, blimey!!
smile.gif

I tried to reply to this twice last night, don't know what went on but I have been up all night with a stomach bug so probably me!!

This is my local trainer where my friend works and has offered to enquire, there is a vid on the front page which shows the gallops (and my mate is in it loads, ha ha, she kept that one quiet!!):

http://www.tomgeorgeracing.co.uk/

JD that would be so helpful, thank you.

So would anyone be prepared to travel to Stroud, or Chelt (if JD gets the nod)??

We need a few horses I think, a mix, but def some ex racers who will show the others what to do!!
