Loan a 3yo horse, just to look after, occasionally hack out and lunge for a small contribution for a few days a week? My personal opinion is that no one would .. but what do you think?

if it's for a few days a week and for a contribution then it's a 'share' not a 'loan'.

I would taken such a horse on loan for my daughter who is keen to bring on a youngster, but if I had the horse on full loan I would not expect to pay the owner anything, as I would expect to be paying all the costs of keeping the horse.

If it was a share then yes, I would pay a contribution. As the horse is only 3, you need to be sure that whoever you are sharing with is doing the lunging and training correctly. It would be easy to spoil a good animal.

i think you would find someone, but sharing a 3yo, I would worry about them being ruined, I have a 3yo TBX and she is so wonderful at her age, I wouldnt risk someone i didnt have 100% confidence in riding her....x

Agree with tangoharvey it would be very risky to get someone else involved at such a young age if she fell into the wrong hands could be a disaster! My friend is selling her 7 year old mare she's only been broken 6 months due to having a couple of foals! She is very green and various potential buyers have come and ridden her in a short space of time and it has really messed her up and it's set her back months!
