everyone on HHO/FB that stepped up to the plate in response to the "appeal" for ROSE.
Sadly, over the next 6 months, I, and EMW can guarantee there will be at least 1 "rose" at every Sale we go to.
At no point do I wish to presurise ANYONE on this Forum...but helping these poor Ponies costs.
The RSPCA/WHW/Redwings are the high profile Charities.
EMW are the small-fry..but, Pro-Rata do alot more at grass roots/ground zero.

Can I just ask on here....When..not If..the next "Rose" needs help, can EMW come on here and ask you Guys for your full support?

I for one hope so.
As really, this Forum is "All About The Horses"

Thank You

Yes you can ask me anytime.

I'm so glad things worked out for Rose

I was looking forward to doing something practical to help so next time you need something you know where I am.

And a big well done to you and EMW for what you tried to do for Rose.

when the next"rose comes up at a sale i will be glad to offer money!!!! also a home if need be!! u are all amazing!! i am new to the site and find it hard to negotiate it at times but love it already xx

and I have already told EMW that if they ever need emergency stabling/grazing in this area then I will be more than happy to help out. If there is anything else I can do to help then I will be more than happy to. I am so impressed by the way that so many people came together and stood up to be counted when it really mattered. IME EMW are the most proactive horse charity out there and they deserve every penny they get. I intended standing the cost of Rose's care whilst she was with us plus a part of the purchase price and will make a donation instead now that it isn't needed.

I'll donate when I know what's actually happened and where she is. ??

I think the gist is that the owners have made their own arrangements that do not involve EMW. They have, however, been in contact with EMW who are happy with the plans they have put in place. I am sure that if EMW are at liberty to tell us more they will but it could be the owner has asked them not to and they will have to respect that. EMW have publicly offered refunds to all those who made donations for Rose, although most have said they do not want it returned and for EMW to use the money as they see fit.

I am very proud to be a Patron of EMW - and to support it on my own forum with fundraising as well as promoting gifts of rugs and other necessities. We recently raised over £2,000 with an auction of promises.

I think EMW's MOST important work is with the markets - monitoring conditions there and working to get improvements for thousands of hoses going through the sales!

If you'd like to help EMW on an ongoing basis - at NO cost to you except one or two extra clicks of your mouse - and if you shop online with many of the big retailers - or on E-bay - could I ask you to register with this site - http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/emw/

If you register here - and go to your favourite shopping sites FROM the Easy Fundraising site - then EMW will get a donation from EVERY purchase you make. Even a small purchase on E-bay can result in a donation of .20p or more to EMW - and it all adds up!

And remember, EMW is TOTALLY staffed by volunteers - every penny raised goes to the charitable work (and EMW IS a registered charity!)

Having had a small glimpse into the world of EMW, I for one will be pleased to support them as much as I can - they do some valuable work for the less fortunate horses out there & as above, there will be many more Rose's to come, this winter :(

Sorry to be thick but I don't know what EMW are but if they have a paypal account I'll stick a few coppers in now and then :)

Elaine and her team are and have been working to improve conditions for horses and ponies at mart for a number of years. There is still a long way to go
Read Current Conditions, much tighter ones are campaigned for.

You will see fewer sticks being used, you should hear Auctioneers castigate sellers/buyers who are rough and hassle the ponies in the ring, if not express your disgust in writing to the Auctioneers (not on a Forum they wont be reading) immediately after the sale.

Some of the volunteers--include me in this--regularly attend sales in our areas and press for Trading Stds Animal Health Officers to be at every sale. In Cumbria they check every horse entering the sale and take up issues with vendor. Sometimes they are able to stay and watch the loading at the end and make sure transport regulations are adhered to and that loading is done with minimum force.

If I can help I will, without a doubt.
I'll gladly donate and offer more practical help if I can.
Well done to everyone who stepped up to help the mare - you're all stars! :)
