Would much appreciate any tips etc...

Am based in the Somerset/Devon area if this helps. Thanks!

I think Starbucks and RosiiePimms do TC, you could maybe send them a PM. But I am sure there are many others here that can help you.

And, welcome!

Edited to correct my wrong spelling of RosiiePimms

i am in Somerset and I go! Taunton Vale have their team chase on 15 March at Pontispool. They usually have the schedule up on the website but the classes are normally Novice (3'), Intermediate (3'3) and open (3'6) being the height of the fixed fences. Do you have anyone you could form a team with?

Hello and welcome to a very nice place

It's helped me through a tough time and continues to do so, plus the amount of stuff that I'm learning is amazing (given m'age lol).

Don't know much about team chasing, other than you need to be slightly certifiable

Hope you find what you're looking for and have some fun.l

We have done 3.The first 2 were with friends and just the novice because one was under16 but we were much too fast.
Then I got a place in an intermediate team at the Cotswold. They were extremely fast and we managed to keep up until the 5th fence then at the 6th you had to jump a hedge and turn back and go over the same hedge to the righthand side. My horse unfortunately couldn't understand why they were coming back towards him as he was in the air. He ended up stuck in the hedge and had to be cut out,. The team carried on and came second but we felt rather stupid at the prizegiving.
They are all finished now until the spring.
Do not under estimate the courses , my horse has no problem with novice BE but the speed they go is 'flat out'
The novice is fun but a bit of a lottery

I've done a few novice TC's and had a brilliant time.

I would suggest that you either put a post on the teamchasing forum asking for other team members or just gather some friends together and give it a go!!!

Make sure you've got a good lead horse and do plenty of practice as a team before hand to work out your order. A useful tip to help prepare is to measure out a set distance and time yourself to get used to what the ideal pace should feel like!

Thankyou for all your replies! Re: oofadoofa, my friends are either not brave enough to try or their horses are either too old/young and inexperienced/not fit enough etc to go! So am out of luck...

Will try on the team chasing website.
If anyone knows of a team needing a 4th member (preferably NOT open on my first time out! lol.
