I have a tiny , think 1/4 acre , with mains water and a large shed on site and was wondering if it would appeal to anyone with a tiny miniature pony? It is doing nothing at the moment but do you think it too small . I could offer more space if required but would prefer not to.
Any thoughts. It has 6ft fencing all around so no deer / foxes get in.

I think you should open it to tender for local people wishing to maybe have a couple of chickens/ducks and maybe goats. I would love to do this myself. Maybe not pigs though if you want to keep it good condition. You could ask for a small rent but free eggs on top?

Agree. Its likely a 'good lifer' would pay a better rent too. If you have a local poultry club mention it to them - plenty wanting to breed to show but habe nowhere to house cockerels and a large shed where they cam be housed quietly indoors would be a godsend

Your other narket may be someone who has a small pony and land locally but no storage and no shelter

I agree with jinglesmells...maybe chickens or a couple of small animals?

We've got geese because we live by a river, but I hate seeing geese and ducks kept where they don't have access to decent water, so I wouldn't say water birds!

Thanks everyone. I don't want noisy stuff like cockerels and although I have some riverbank this paddock is not near it so no geese either then lol. Thanks for your thoughts.

Allotment is a good idea, they are often in high demand and with waiting lists :)

Didn't mean to be snobby or rude about the geese thing, it just makes me sad when I see them being kept with nothing but a muddy paddling pool for water. Ours bomb up and down the river and our gander is only just younger than me...and I'm 25!

It could do for something that was on restricted turnout too. Do you have any local yards that would be interested in paying a yearly rent to have access to it as a recovery paddock?

Could be handy as a "pony jail" for restricted grazing. There was always huge competition for the starvation paddock on my old yard; someone with a metabolically-challenged horse might be grateful!
