Have got some off-cuts of EVA stable matting and was wondering if I could use it as pads in my horses hoof boots? Its 22mm thick, but I've managed to split it down the middle fairly neatly.

He doesn't usually need boots but he's a bit footsore over rough ground at the moment and my EP saw him today and says its because his hooves have worn a bit too short.

Have an old pair of cavallo's which I tried today, but they are a bit loose, hence wondering about the stable mat pads.

Any thoughts gratefully received, thanks :)

I would have thought that would be fine. I've heard of people using yoga mats for the same purpose. It won't mould like sole mates pads but I can't see any problem using it to improve fit and comfort.
