Would this hat be Dressage legal?

Just stick with your HS1, you won't be the only one. Especially unaffiliated. Also you won't be able to wear other hat from next year anyway, not upto standard. HS1 is ok for next year.

I thought they'd extended it so we all had till 2017 before the hat change?

is this true ?
sorry haven't seen it anywhere else and was one of the people caught out buy the rule change , bought a uvex two days before the change :( would be nice to get some use out of it

edited to add := is the rule change extended to 2017 for eventing as well as dressage , sorry for slightly derailing your thread op

Thank you guys :) just thought we could jazz things up a bit but that hat is a bit too jazzy.

I wonder what new standard will be coming out instead. Everything is a bit confusing at the moment. My friend went to the BRC champs a couple of weeks ago and they wouldn't let her go cross country in her HS1. Seems there's a bit of confusion around the new rules.

There are HS1's which are not - although that fact came as a surprise to me when I found one hat tagging. You have to watch out for them on internet sales as they have (understandably) been heavily discounted. The only non compliant (i.e. marked to BS(EN) only) HS1s I have seen also have fixed peaks - that alone would normally have stopped a rider going XC?

Shay I think you're getting confused between the HS1 & the Gatehouse.
The HS1 is a skull cap & def doesn't have a fixed peak.
