Would this make you move yards?

I thought I had found a fab yard,close to home and perfect hacking however the field situation is a joke. It is a diy/full livery yard but regardless of what you are on when you come you buy your own fencing and put it where you want. Therefore you can keep moving your field but he who affords more fence gets bigger plot etc. YO does not manage it but stands there moaning every day about it as some people move very week. There is also no water therfore you buvcket water out every day.
I have found another yard but is is not such good hacking (about half as good) but with proper fields and troughs.
Would it make you leave? What would be your priority?
 
I would never have moved on in the first place. It is incredibly poor yard management, which would make me wonder what else goes on but not wish to actually find out! I've always inspected fields my horses would have gone on to at any yard for the state of the fencing, etc, so would have found out about this before committing to move there. I would sacrifice hacking to leave now. You can always continue to look around for a better place after moving to the new yard.
 
Sounds like a nightmare - and nothing on earth would induce me to move to a yard like that.

Priority has to be the horses health and safety - then everything else after that.
 
I would leave but only because that would actually drive me mental!! I cant even imagine what that must look/be like, i like some sort of routine and so does the ned so the constant changing would drive me and him insane!! But also i have to take into consideration that hacking on my yard is not my main priority, so the not so good hacking wouldnt really bother me, whereas for you i am guessing it would

thanks, wanted to ask causeallmy local horsey friends think I am mad cause the hacking is so good. Howeverit really stresses me out to the extent thatI am making myself ill. My horse seems happy enough but Iam not getting pleasure cause send all my time watching whta everyone else is doing.

That's reason in itself to leave - your unhappiness. Good luck on the hunt for a new yard.
 
where abouts are you from? we have a yard very similar in my area. infact exactly the same! i moved from there and i am now at a amazing yard! i think sometimes we get in comfort zone and we are afraid to move but the main priority here is your horses welfare and safety.
get out as soon as possible.

thanks from london area. I find it really frustrating that YO moans about it but does nothing to sort us out. i told her to get everyone together and tell them that mares and geldings in big fields and sort a plan for summer versus winter, at this rate we will have no summer grazing. People need to understand that no yard has much grass at this time of year. I think you are right about comfort zone as I have been in area for 20years and know the hacks etc. however my horse jumps electric fence when no grass so am worried he is going to hurt himself,also there is no guarentee that there is someone next to them when my field companion rides so he goes mad then and he has just ecovered from a year off with a injury.

Yes I would move yards, though TBH I wouldn't have moved there in the first place if I'd known that was how they arranged the fields. Sacrifice your hacking for your sanity!
 
Never heard of that arrangement before although it may be the 'norm' in some areas. Personally, I couldn't be doing with it so it's not a yard I would consider.

totaly agree, but in my fast expanding exepriance of livery yards then your going to struggle very hard to fine one that is 100% so my advice is cover all options.. if you have all year turnout so be it a small area then its better than horses in 24/7 through the winter.

consider it harder... the next place may be full of nutty witches that clip there horses feed them oats are aiming for the olympics yet cant get a rocking horse to rock!
