Equimax would cover the Tapeworm but not the Encysted Redworm.Equest Pramox or Stongid - P at a double dose (personally i would never use Strongid - p, far too much resistance) would cover it provided the worm count was clear.

sorry - but you're facts are wrong, strongid p DOES NOT treat encysted small reworm (cyathastomes) at any dose, double or otherwise. the only drugs licenced to treat this parasite are Panacur equine guard(fenbendazole) as a 5 day course, this is the drug there is the most resistance to, so speak to your Vet or an SQP at you local saddler/feed merchant before using...
and Equest (moxidectin) no known resistance, but is a potent drug, so again chat with you vet or SQP (suitably qualified person)
there is so much crap written on forums about wormers and what they cover that i truly shudder - i really can see the EU pushing for wormers to become presciption only...........
I'm completely confused by all the worming stuff, I worm every 13 weeks alternating Pramox & Equest, is right that this is not strictly necessary? But then I have to worm for some things anyway regardless if I had a worm count done & it was clear?? Pleeeease can someone knowledgeable clarify whats best, thankies!!

That worming routine will give you full cover.
The simpliest reduced worming routine would be to do the one mentioned above and worm with Pramox Spring and Autum only and drop the Equest provided you get clear worm counts in the Summer and Winter.
