I ordered a pair of white Breeches (am hoping to give stressage a bit of a go on the Current Appy this year ) from a well known on line shop, on Sunday. They were less than half the original price, so I was rather chuffed :) I was especially pleased as it said they were ready for dispatch within 24 hours, "Ooo Goody" I thought "they'll be here by the end of the week".
I have just looked on line and they are now selling at £10 less , fair enough I bought them at a price that was ok, BUT they have not been dispatched, the last thing on the tracking is that they were being packed yesterday! The dispatch date for the very cheap ones is the 13th of the month, but at this rate mine won't be sent out any sooner!
So dear HHO'rs am I being unreasonable, or should I return to my previous postition of not buying from them 'cos they are pants? :)

Are the white ones still available? White / cream / beige I find are normally sold out in sale items?

Check and if not sold out either cancel (which I doubt you will be able to too) and re-order..

However you will need to pay to return and need to pay for new P & P so is it really worth it!!

I say be grateful they were on offer in the first place ;-)
hehe

I'd cancel order and re-order if possible. Give them a call and cancel as they were not despatched in 24hours which is why you had ordered them.
I may well do that, I do think it is a lesson learnt, again! I knew there were reasons why it was so long that I had ordered from them, that I had forgotten the password for my account :D

DH? I waited over a month for boots which were in stock and then put back twice as they needed to order. Very cheap but very very slow! In that time I changed order and size and had no problems, so just give them a call if it is, very helpful on the phone!

As an online retailer I'd say tough luck, you win some you loose some. Is difficult enough to make a profit with everyone whinging about your prices /postage charges etc then to have folk send stuff back and reorder or phone and say 'why have you reduced it just after I ordered can I have £10 off' not realising EVERY transaction whether refund or charge through the card payment incurs a fee, and then certain wholesalers announcing a 40% discount (so customers buy direct from them at the same prices you pay) on facebook and your customers complain because you don't have the same offer and they also wanted to buy other stuff you have.

(bad day, can you tell?:p)

I can see all of the above (hope the day gets better :) ) BUT they lie on their website, or at least mislead, as they say available for dispatch in 24 hours and then take four days to even pack the blooming things. I don't mind them reducing them again, not even on missing on out on the further reduction, just that they do not do what they say, or at least imply :(
I did once vow never to buy from them again, having had some of the worst costumer service from them, in person in the shop  Offered to sew on mismatched buttons to legs of johds, for no reduction in price, while appearing to suggest that I had pulled the buttons off myself! (we had just spent a small fortune with them as well  )

I ordered 5 exercise sheets from them on Tuesday and that to said dispatched in 24 hours, it was despatched on Wednesday and stated 3 - 5 working days for delivery, however the parcel is out for delivery today (although their customer service dept are saying allow 2 working days for delivery still).

I paid £8 each for the exercise sheets, but they've now gone up to £11 each so I got the better deal.

I did the same thing with a pair of boots - thought that they were well reduced, ordered them and the next day there was a further £30 reduction:eek::eek:
I just think that its the luck of the draw though, their prices are good for certain items, especially breeches and you agree to buy at the prices advertised at the time

I agree with Pandora, & I don't see they can object. They've already failed their part of the deal by not dispatching when they should have.

Its not a lie on the website though ;) the goods most probably are "available" for dispatch but they just don't say that they will be packed or dispatched that day or even week :D :D :D

legally you have a right to cancel your order within 7 days of receiving delivery under the Distance Selling Regulations, so they actually can't stop you cancelling the order if you want to.

If they refuse point this leaflet out to them which explains their legal obligations:

http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf

Thank you, I shall probably just accept them, but it will be lesson learnt  I am even more miffed having heard that someone else orded goods after me and will have them delivered before mine arrive!

A bit of an update
I received an automated e-mail telling me they have dispatched them today, so it took them 3 days to pack them  I shall expect them to be folded in the style of a lotus blossom :D
I e-mailed them yesterday asking for an explanation, but no answer yet, I don't suppose there will be, their customer service is always pretty pants tbh.

If you cant cancel your order then Buy another pair at the further reduced price and when you receive the higher priced item just say they dont fit and return for a refund?

I'm wary of buying anything from them at the moment. To me it seems very suspicious things are reduced to almost 20% of their original price. Maybe they are just offering good deals but a bit like hmv and other large retailers the goods may never leave the warehouse.

Yep had similar from assumed retailer. Ordered boots on next day delivery, nothing appeared Did get my money back for the next day delivery but has reminded me why i dont buy from them normally (responded when a little tipsy to a spam email!!).

got to say have never had a moment's problem with Ride-Away
