Would you be miffed off?

I share the workload, not terribly evenly it seems between myself and another woman at my yard.
Now, I text her at 2.30 this afternoon to say I would come up tonight and do my girl myself as I wanted to see her as she had seemed a little out of sorts in the morning.
Anyway, I sent text at 2.30 and headed to yard to spend some time with her to find she has brought my mare in already as it suited her! It was 2.45 and she had been in 15mins! She had not picked up my text (or ignored it)

Would you be miffed off if there was no reason to bring your horse in so early without even telling you?
If she had told me that she had to bring in early before then thats different.
Anyway, rant over, would you be a bit miffed given the situation i mentioned here?
 
Yes, I'd be annoyed about being in that early without any warning or explanation

After all, you could've not been up for a little while longer yet?
 
It would depend on what your normal arrangements are. What time you normally have set for bringing the horses in, what you are supposed to do if you think they need to come in early. If you don't have some guidelines set up, maybe you need them?
 
I had that problem with someone new at my yard. Our two horses are out together and the first week she was there she brought my mare in early 3 days in a row. I was mightily miffed that she hadn't even asked me if I minded. She had only been there 2 days when she did it for the first time.

I had a word with her about it and it only happens once or twice a week now and as the weather is foul and the gateway's muddy I don't mind - me fickle? Never!

Did you see said woman and ask her why she got your horse in? I take it you speak to each other quite alot normally?
Not sure what the weather is like there but if she didn't get your text or b) only got it after she had got your horse in, she may have thought she was doing you a favour?
Sorry to disagree.... but weather is really bad here and I for one wouldn't like mine left out if the weather was threatening to explode ......

They usually live out the two mares, we only bring in at weekends over winter just to rest the land a little, generally they are out 24/7.
She knew i was annoyed and I said I did not expect her to be up there now taking my horse in so early so unnecessarily, plus I had text plenty early enough I thought as I wanted to bring her in myself to check on how she seemed.
There is history of problems with this lady to be fair so perhaps I am more sensitive to it, but I am very hacked off at her being brought in so early just to suit her plans
 
I would mind if they normally came in at 5 or something and they had been brought in that early. If that was the case, i would want to know as i would have put enough hay in to last from 5 til morning. I would also want to go up later and skip out as that is a long time to go without them being checked or stable being tidied up.

We usually speak a fair amount. The weather has been a bit grim but my girl tends to live out as she has a well sheltered field and with plenty of hay she is usually happy as larry.
She said she had not got the text at all, so i dont know, just find it rather annoying

Yes, this is the thing, I put enough hay and water in for the normal come in time when they do come in of about 5pm, not 2.30! I have visitors so have had to ask YO to check she is ok later
 
Didn't realise your's lived out, sorry! I can understand if 'things' keep happening and this was yet another.... If I knew yours was happy out on her own (if she is) then I would probably have left her. Again I agree with the other comment you need to set some guidelines....

Maybe pick up the phone and speak to her to find out where the confusion arose? If the weather was anything like it was here, with you - I would have been delighted to be honest.

Perhaps she thought she was being helpful, and not leaving your horse out on it's own??
