Would you be worried if your dog lost 2kg of weight but you hadn't changed food, exercise etc.
I have just changed vets and want to take her for a check and say about the weight loss. Previous vet said she looked and felt fine but im not convinced. Am i just worring too much.

How old is she? They can drop weight as they get on a bit?

TBH if it was me I'd probably pop her in for a check-up, if only to put your mind at rest

She is 2 1/2yrs yorkie x jack russel, but has looks and build of a yorkie. I do want to take her in but don't want to waste their time if im over worrying.

For a dog that young, with no obvious cause, I would worry I think. I would definitely take her to vet. Could be so many things - worms still possible, virus, mild poisoning, digestive or pancreatic disorder etc. so I would check it out asap. Hope she is okay!!

I had the similar thing with Jess recently. She was scratcing for England, but was treated for fleas, mange, etc and she also went from 19.85 kilo to 17.5 kilos, although was eating normally, same exercise etc.
She has regained her weight just about but only becuase I have doubled her food. I am still "under the vet" as he's not sure what is going on. She is still scrattching but not as much. No rash or anything.
(I've just read that back and I hope you forgive the wordig but you know what I mean)
Do let us know how you gt on.

I thought it was alot too loose for no obvious reason but previous vet seemed to think she is ok (which i don't agree with). I will be ringing new vets tomorrow to make an appointment as they should have her records by now.
Will let you know what they say when she has been.
