I have a stunning 15hh connemara mare who went to stud with the previous owner when she was around 11yrs old and didnt take so came home again and the woman then sold her to me. She has been with me competing ever since and now i am semi-retiring her and would like to put her in foal as she would be a super mare to breed from, vet recommended her!
Anyway, she is now just turned 20yrs old and i am wondering what to do? I have found the right stallion and stud and lady at stud was fine with her age, saying she had another 20yr odl mare last year that was very successfully put in foal.
However i am not made of money and am worried i am going to go to all the expense if she wont take again or her age is against her.
What would you do?
