was wondering what peoples opinions were i have a 15 highland , rugged with med/light weight and a 14.2 conne x, rugged with med weight. given the current weather, aka very very cold and frosty, should i bring them in? highland has had laminitis in summer. getting conflictings answers from yard friends. anyone?? there is grass in field but obv its frozen.

Are you able to give them hay in the field to encourage them to eat that instead of the frozen grass?I suppose it depends how much grass you have for them to eat...my lad who has had a mild twinge of lami but very susceptable to it again is out 24/7 but he is on a bare paddock so his diet it 95% hay as there is not much else to nibble at. So I am not too worried by the frost because he is on hay instead.

Frosty gras is very bad for horses & specially as you know one of your has had a laminitus attack previously then I would play it safe & bring them in.
