Would you buy a horse/pony with a cataract

I am looking to buy a schoolmaster type horse/pony to teach me the ropes. i have found a perfect 15hh bay connie gelding, 13 yrs old. same home 7 yrs. been a total saint. fantastic pc references and has jumped up to 1.15 but the owner states the horse will not pass vet due to cataract which has been present for years. the horse is 2.5 k which is reasonable for a type like this. Question is would you a horse with this issue? thanks
 
Personally if it was just in one eye it wouldnt bother me. My connie has been blind in one eye for years and still jumps 1m 30 and takes me round XC safely.

Id probably ask the vet to have a look though just to check it wont spread to other eye
 
I brought my horse, even though he has a cataract. I have known other horses in the past with them and it hasn't bothered them at all.
