As you know my boy Donnegan was PTS in April, he was cremated and came back in a lovely wooden box with his name and age inscribed on the plaque.
They also take the horses shoes off and give them a clean up and return them to you. Well two lots of shoes have come back but neither of them were D's

So I called them and he assured me that he would get it sorted and call me back the next day, well he hasn't!

Thing is I would of got the farrier to come out before D was PTS if I had known this was going to happen

I really want my boy's shoes back but don't know where to go from here

know how u must be feeling had my old boy pts i had him for 21yrs
he was 30

didnt have any probs with mine

i suppose u can just keep ringing them back or speak to your vets if they arranged the cremation

good luck
dont let them get away with it

As painful as it will be, you asked for the shoes because they are important to you.

It is the same as when a family member dies and you expect to receive their personel effects.

Write a letter as well as phoning so your issue is documented.
I would insist that the shoes are found and returned to you as this was part of the conditions when you had him cremated.

I am sorry for your loss.

good luck

I second this. I think the only thing you can do is to keep ringing them. I doubt the vet (if he arranged the cremation) would be much use. It's hard enough to get them to do things at the best of times.

If there's anything I can do to help, please shout x

I no it's not the ideal answer.
If its just a set of his shoes you want, ask your farrier he may have an old set in a pile somewhere.
I do think you should get your shoes back, but maybe this would be better than nothing.

Thats really sad, as like you said you could of had them removed yourself......... but if they have sent you 2 sets of wrong shoes, maybe they have mislaid them, or worse sent them to someone else.....

I definately think a letter is in order....
