Would you do this, or is it too much?

Someone I know is taking their pony out this Saturday for a few in-hand classes, and then back on Sunday to the same place to do a walk and trot dressage test. The next week on Sunday, they are going to an arena to do some sj training, then the week after another dressage test, then nothing the week after, then the week after that another dressage test. Do you think this is too much or is it ok? Just wondering what people think :)

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. As a comparison, I took my horse BSJA and jumped two classes on the Tuesday, boxed 1.5hrs to have a dressage lesson on the Sat, evented on Sunday, then evented again the following weekend. If the horse is fit enough then there is no problem.

I'm doing a 4 hour hack tomorrow, xc schooling Sunday, RAF Halton sponsored ride next Sunday, WHP class the Friday after, then West Wycombe ride on the Monday, the HT the next Sunday, then Frensham ride the Sunday after :D

It totally depends on the fitness of the pony etc Walk/trot dressages etc aren't too strenuous so I'm sure it will be fine.

I can't see any problem with it either - just as long as the pony has had regular exercise over the winter and isn't simply being taken to all of these events with no preparation and lacking fitness.

And presumably the venues are only local anyway?

Unless its a long way to the venue I wouldn't say its too much if the pony is reasonably fit. You'd be riding the pony at home anyway.

Not at all...none of that is strenuous work on any level so I see no issue with it [though with being hunting, may be a tad baised lol] :) Lucky to be able to go out that much!

Thanks for all the replies!
I told a teeny white lie there, the person is in fact me/my sister and Toto, was worried coz you lot can be a little scary at times :p I knew I was being daft, he'll love to be getting out and about! And he's very fit indeed :) Thanks again for putting my mind at ease!

Blimey, bless you, it can be intimidating on here sometimes but do not be worried, others are not, just got to know your own mind on this place truth be known :D
