For walk, trot and canter on mixed ground including roads and fields and tracks.
Just curious who chooses what!
I keep changing my mind..

I have long legs and ride a spooky horse. I previously hacked and jumped in a WoW dressage saddle, just altering the stirrup leathers.
I don't jump now, and ride in a Christ Lammfelle saddle pad.
I feel more in touch with my horse and more prepared for his extravagant behaviour.

Dressage, unless I'm planning a really wild ride. I put the stirrups up a hole or 2 for longer canters/ log jumping. I feel it's better suited for his back if i'm going to be sat down in it alot. My jump saddle is better suited to half seat/ 2-pont seat, which is only a small part of each hack.

I have a dressage and a close contact jump. The jump is great for jumping but hurts my back for longer hacks so I use the dressage mainly - unless I know I will be galloping and jumping.
My older horse who mainly just hacks these days swapped his dressage and jump for a nice comfy GP, which is definitely my favourite hacking saddle.

I used to ride in a dressage saddle as I have bad knees and the gp used to aggravate my knee ligaments. Never had a knee problem again after switching to the dressage saddle ?

I have done both, for a while I had only a dressage saddle and did everything in that, including a bit of jumping and hunting.

Then my first jump saddle wasn't terribly comfy so I carried on using my dressage saddle for hacking.

I have an event saddle now which is more comfortable than my old jump saddle so I do most things including hacking in that but my husband prefers the dressage saddle so he hacks in that still.

I hack in a dressage saddle because it is more comfortable. I have jumped in it too and it was fine. I pretty much just use a dressage saddle these days because it fit my mare better than her GP and is just a nicer saddle.

I have a gp and a dressage and i use the dressage for everything including polework and fast hacking work. Only rummage around the garage for the gp if i want to jump or xc which is rare

On the whole I prefer a dressage-type saddle for hacking. But only if it doesn't have a really deep seat and blocks etc - I still need to be able to move around in it. I have long legs though, and hack all day. I can't imagine doing a full day ride on the moors with my knees under my nose.

I only have a GP so do everything in that. A friend has a dressage and jumping saddle and hacks out in the jumping. When I've ridden her horse, I've hacked him in the jumping saddle and felt very secure in it. I've ridden him in the school in the dressage saddle and wouldn't want to hack in it, I feel very perched on top.

It's been a very long time since I had 2 saddles, but when I did I always hacked in my jump saddle. These days, just the one saddle (jump) so no choice anyway!

Jump. If I'm just plodding around the block then dressage by preference but for faster work over varied terrain, jump.

Depends on the horse, and what saddle(s) they have.
I have had rather a lot of wide native ponies and have found working hunter/VSD styles on the whole more comfortable on these than the really straight cut dressage saddles, but basically it is what fits and suits you both
