Having just sold a couple of Captain's rugs I am in the middle of an argument with Elizabeth, my daughter. Would you buy these or not? Have you got them? If so are they as good as they say? Just wanting to know as my lad has had a hard working life and seem to undergoing some joint changes. So what do you think?

Disclaimer- these are nothing to do with me I just want to know people's opinions/experiences.

I think any perceived benefit to the joints will be negated by the negative effect of heating the tendons, so not something I'd particularly want to use.

That is exactly what I'm looking for to keep feathers out of the way for shoeing and to stop him standing on them whist travelling in the truck. Tubigrip is a little too snug and it's a pain getting it on and off.
Don't like the idea of overnight though, I don't like wraps either, bit of an old fashioned stable bandage girl.

FDC, I think you've seen a photo of my boy, (white in all the wrong places, legs and belly - an absolute magnet for stable stains). All I can think of when I look at those socks, is might they be able to keep him clean the night before a show:cool:?

I'm not actually seriously considering - I worry they'd be too tight on the upper part of this leg, in the same way over the knee socks feel very tight in order for them to stay up on me - not that I wear over the knee socks on a regular basis;)!

I find turnout socks (like the sportabac ones) do a great job of keeping my old horses legs warm in winter and he is less stiff when he has had them on.

You have all mirrored Elizabeth's concerns, so will probably give in and say no to them. I think that MissMincepieandbrandy's point about over the knee is a very valid one. Caps has big knees so maybe an issue.
Thanks for all your opinions and yes when I first saw them I thought it said Willy Warmers too Fizzer! Even I am not so soft as to buy him one of those! (although Elizabeth reckons I will buy any new gadget/ toy etc for him. Can't think where she got that idea from!)

I never seen them before!
But there was a horse on the yard at the college I went to who had margetic boots on at night to help her, she seemed a lot less stiff and happier in her self
I am told magnets help increase blood flow (if I am wrong please correct me and sorry!!)
Just a throught :)
