Hey everyone , my mare is slightly lame from infected mudfever , she is on antibiotics and bute , the vet has been up and said few days rest and start working her as normal , she's a very forward going mare and very fit so I want your opinions wether you would hunt her Saturday , her lameness this morning is 100% better than the day before and she's only slightly short striding , thanks !!

Personally I wouldn't as you can't predict what the going will be like and you could find yourself in a deep field thinking "0hh s**t". I'd be doing road work/known dry tracks for a week or so at least if it were me.

The soundness would probably be from the bute and if she is still short striding on painkillers I'd say she is probably still quite sore.
As fustrating as it might be I'd sit this one out or only go to the meet if you want her to just see everything.

You have the whole season ahead of you...

I agree with Suziq on this one you will probably end up in a bog somewhere, then open up the mud fever trying to clean up at the end of the day. Best try and get it healed properly first. Plenty more days to come.

one of those frustrating things!!
A chance to get better at your foot following - or scrounge a horse from where ever you can find one!

After some comments made this weekend I am a little worried I will be following on foot and suddenly see someone riding along on my horse!!!!
