Would you let someone have your saddle adjusted before buying it?

Me and OH are having a bit of a row at the moment. A girl i have know for years has had a new horse, no tack, so she has being using a saddle of mine. I have agreed to sell the saddle to her and was supposed to pay me last week, but said she would pay me this week - I went to the block today to ask for the money and the saddler the yard uses is their doing an alteration to MY saddle.... was not very pleased but when i told oh he flipped. Still do not have the money for it - what would you have done, what would you do now? I am sure she will cough up - but OH says that is not the point.

Agree with your OH, she hasnt paid for your saddle yet so had no right to effectively change it etc till she has. Think she might just have taken a bit of advantage of you having known you for ages. Call her and ask when she is leaving the money down/can you meet and then you can pass that back onto your OH and calm him down!

Your other half is right to be upset she hasn't paid you for the saddle yet so its not yet hers. Tell her you want then money for the saddle and for the saddler so that your not left to foot the bill. x

Hmm, well I had a KN dressage saddle for my old horse and agreed with saddle owner that I was going to get it checked by the saddler prior to parting with any money.
Obviously, if it had not fitted him, I would've given it back but it was a close fit and needed slight adjustment.

I wouldn't have gone down that route without running it past her first.

So, no, I wouldn't have been happy if I was you.

checked is different to actually changing it though!
