Horse is being 'sub' loaned; currently on loan from rescue centre, 'owner' hasnt got time anymore and loaning out horse.

Horse is everything I have been looking for.

What would you do?

I had thought of contacting the rescue centre, but I am unsure of the 'owners' intensions ie short term loan/long term loan or if 'owner' wants someone to take over loan agreement. Either way I know 'owner' is in breaking loan agreement with rescue centre.

Only found out after someone on the yard told me, 'owner' hasn't mentioned it.

I know its a muddle and I know its early but I haven't slept a wink trying to think of the best thing to do.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

The owner is the rescue centre. The loaner has no right to do anything about disposing of the horse unless it is to return it to the rescue centre. The rescue centre will probably be only too pleased to have a new loan home straight away and avoid having another mouth come back to feed. Either speak to the loaner or contact the rescue direct.

I loan a horse from a rescue centre and there is a lot of paper work and terms and conditions of the loan. If you call them I'm sure they will send out a field officer who will check the situation. They will then decide what is best for the horse. For example, I am not allowed to move my horse from current livery without giving a months notice and the field officer has to inspect new premises before I can move her.

You must be joking, no, wouldn't get involved, too many complications.

Owner shouldn't be sub loaning, totally goes against the purpose of the rescue re-homing the horse in the first place.

Plenty of horses and ponies out there to loan, rescue, share with out doing things this way.

Don't let your heart rule your head, could be more sleepless nights if you do.

I have been looking for 6 months for a horse to loan and this is the first one I find in my area that is sane and got 4 legs :p its just my luck it comes with package and a situation you wouldn't touch with a barge poll.

There just seems to be nothing round here at the mo, its not like I'm a teenage joy rider (no offence to teenagers) but I'm in my 20's well closer to 30! and I have loads of experiance and I'm not to picky about what I'm after :(

Personally I would mention to the person offering to loan to you what you have been told. The person who told you this maybe mistaken, or owner may not have been truthful to them when she had the horse.

She may even just be seeing how things 'go with you' before she tells you, (not the right way either)

If it turns out to be true then what the others have said is right.

I can understand how hard it must be when you have been looking so long in fact I would also tell the 'owner/loaner' how you feel

:):):) OMG OMG its all sorted they are ringing the rescue centre and going to arrange him to be signed over to me I have already phoned them (without giving to much information) and in they say its not a problem aslong as I past the vetting and the yard does!!! So giddy now.

Thank you for all your advice. Im sure I will need more of it in the future :p

Thanks i'm sure it will be photo overload!!!

The girl who has him on loan is very nice and only considered the action she has taken to loan him because she had a really bad fall of a pony (not him) and lost all confidence. She just wants whats best for the horse. :):)
