Ok, I'll try and keep it short, I've always had 2 horses, but sold one in Feb, and used some of the money to renovate a house, which is now finished and for sale. Intended to use some of the sale money to buy 2nd horse again, would not be bothered but neddy 1 lame and could be out for a little while and I'm going mad.

Would you look to loan a horse, would you look round for one in your budget (not much) or wait til house sells and have nice amount to shop with - but not have one to compete in meantime.

I'd be looking for something to SJ and RC WH/XC/ODE, but if i had bit more money I would look for one to BSJA.

If loaning has anyone used Equilink is it worth the reg fee?

Thanks

I would wait and then you can have more choice. In the meantime couldnt you advertise as willing to help someone exercise their horse? That way you wont become so attached as you might if you had something on loan.

I'm about to put my boy on field rest until March and could no way live with no horse to ride until then but don't want to buy another until i see whether he'll come back fit again so am looking into loaning for a year.

If your neds going to come back sound then do you really want 2 horses or is it better to loan one in the short term, depends on whether you can loan a good BSJA one or not i spose.

I wouldn't rush into buying one if i didn't have enough money to get the one i wanted as it may end up a disaster but would wait until i had the cash.

Sorry not much help but think i'd go down the short term loan route until you know what the score is with your horse.

Why dont you look at loan with view to buy. That way you can loan something, see how you get on, also if anything goes wrong can give the horse back or if you dont get on, give back and if you do thats brill cause you can talk about buying...
