Would you re-join the Pony Club?!....

...if you were 20 yrs old, had given up PC at the age of 15 due to giving up jumping and generally moving on, but now decided to 'do dressage' (ha!) and a local PC offered excellent tuition and regular, heavily discounted rallies with a an exceptionally well-known dressage rider....would you consider rejoining!??!?!

Yes, without question! Even though I hated the PC when I was a member (think the feeling was mutual too - I had a miserable time).

defintly!! we get free tuition from 2 olympic eventers, one 3* eventer, a fei showjumping trainer and a brilliant dressage trainer who trained the eventers!! Love pony club! such great craic to

No, id feel silly. Im a similar age but after seeing the people at my old yard that did pony club (including one that was same age but acted 12) i wouldnt even consider it, Im the youngest of all my horsey friends (most being 4+ years older than me) and tbh id just find it irritating being with younger horsey people again. How about a riding club? Arnt there any good ones that offer similar instruction to you?

Obviously this is just my opinion and if you feel happy etc then go for it, but personally No.

Yes my daughter did,she gained her A test at the age of 19 and carried on in pc until 21 .That was the leaving age then.
She rejoined at 23 and went to pc champs to do assoc. classes and won the first eventing challenge [ showjumping then straight onto short xc.]also did well in dressage to music.
Great organization ,she owes a lot to it

There's quite a few older members of my daughters PC , they organise the riders so the older ones ride together and the tuition is very good and cheap !!

Yes, definitely - and in our Pony Club you'd probably be in a group with no-one more than a couple of years younger

In your situation yes, I would. I however didn't like my PC much, very cliquey and very exclusive. I was considering joining a different branch but then my horse broke so I had no need to! I'm in my local RC which is SO much nicer, now holds regular clinics, and we even have a PC-style camp. Roll on 2009 when I can go to camp again!

Given what's on offer, I would have thought this was a no-brainer. After all if you really hate it you can always leave again.

I'm planning of re-joining the pony club when I pass my test to drive a small lorry and I expect I will be about that age!
