I have my boy out on loan with a view to buy, the lady who has him is great with him, well cared for and normally keeps in regular contact :).
I tried to contact her last Tuesday and have heard nothing yet I have also PM her on her again nothing :( am getting a bit worried now, My gut feeling is she wouldnt do a runner with him etc but worried he aint chucked her or something and hurt her, She may also be on holiday. Am going to try and contact her again today if I can not contact her am thinking of just going down to the yard where he is kept.
Do you think am being to rushed as its only a week and she could be away on holiday.

I'd definitely go and visit if you can't get hold of her. My loaner tells me when she is on holiday etc and who is looking after the horse she has on loan from us while she is away. We are very lucky to have someone like that I know.

She normally lets me know most things, asks if she can try new feed, bits etc if she feels he needs it and asks first, thats why I find it rather odd.

Just go and see. Better safe than sorry. No-one should get 'funny' about an owner coming see their horse ;)

I would go and see. I like to know everything with my little ones that are on loan and I'm always down the yard. I do have another horse there though :)

I managed to get hold of the lady who has him on loan she is away on holiday hence no replys :). At least my minds put at rest now :) as I said in the OP I was more worried that he had hurt her or something. Thank you for your replys

It's a perfectly reasonable time for someone to be on holiday. And if you're not getting a reply, that's very possible reason why. If it eases your mind to pop in, I would....

However, funny story for you. I have a horse on loan and have had him since March. I get on great with the owner, we exchange texts and she's been to see him a few times. She has my home number and my mobile as well as the fact that she knows my YO's very well, she's met my RI, knows my vet etc etc etc. HOwever, she has really good reason to be super protective of this horse as she'd sold him and then re-bought him back six months later to rescue him. Imagine her panic when she texted me several times over a period of two weeks and I never replied? The reason? She texted my home phone, a land line. And I rarely ever use the landline so never knew there were messages there! When I discovered the pile of messages, I got in touch with her straight away, assured her all was well and let her know the reason why I wasn't in touch.

It may very well be a perfectly reasonable reason why you've not heard anything from your loaner. :D
