Err, no but I kind of have this unreasonable thing about sellers dictating "conditions". If you want control of the rest of the horses life then perhaps it might be best NOT to sell it?
How very strange!
Seems like she wants to be able to dicate what would happen to the horse after it's sold..? And as for getting someone over to see if he's still happy - that made me laugh.
She obviously really loves the horse and maybe circumstances means she has to get rid of him. Obviously she is worried but if you were into that sort of thing then he may be your ideal horse!! (Not for me though)
I know the present owner looks like she is being a bit controlling, but I think it shows that she is really concerned for the long term well being of the horse.
How many horror stories have appeared on this forum about doped / nightmare horse being sold, where sellers have lied to buyers and quite obviously been glad to take the money and run.
The only sort of buyers that ad would attract would not be good horse owners I fear. most likely to be the sort who wouldnt actually know the first thing about caring for a horse. Anyone with half a brain cell would steer clear.
FY, I have no problem with the use of SOME natural horsemanship methods within reason, but this is absurd.
I would have great pleasure in buying this horse, having it shod feeding it what the hell I like, purley just to piss the woman off, but then I would. Iam now going to ask a stupid question. What does "Left brain extovert mean?" Sorry to sound dumb.
From Parelli website.
Characteristics of a "Left Brained" (LB) Extrovert include being mischievous, energetic, willful, disobedient, domineering, and may have a tendency to be mouthy, nip and bite. LB Extroverts are easy to train unless you are boring and repetitive in which case they act up and become unruly.
LB horses are not afraid of people, they are self confident, brave, are relatively insensitive, playful, mouthy, exuberant and dominant. At minimum, these horses can be pushy and disobedient, and at worst they are aggressive. Keep in mind, these horses can be dangerous when they don't like or trust people.
LB horses need you to become a lot more interesting. They need things to do. They are usually quite playful and are easily bored by riders who are fixated on perfecting a maneuver, and that's what makes them act up. Because they are so confident they are fast learners.
Extroverted horses tend to be energetic, excitable and quick and need quick action from their riders and handlers. They need their frantic patterns to be effectively interrupted and their energy to be constructively directed. This makes them calmer and focuses their attention.
Sounds like a good excuse for a badly behaved horse!
Monty Roberts doesn't agree with parelli so its interesting that she's mixed the 2 methods. says to me that although she obviously cares about the horse she is clearly completely off her trolley and would be a right pain in the arse for whoever buys the poor horse
Ohhhh don't you just love the paralli "horsanalities" what a load of crap. Of course every horse has to fit into one of 4 (I think) pigeon holes, and of course every horse wants to have "games" played with it and a stick waved around it's head. Horses aren't individuals, neither are people for that matter!
Ugh I enjoy picking and choosing ideas from different "natural" methods but that..... wonder how long it'll take her to find another parralli fanatic as TBH titeling the ad like that will put A LOT of people off. Let alone the animal communicator stuff....
What would they do if you brought it then did everything they had told you not too? what could they do? Interesting for any budding law students we have on here - would you have to sign something to say you agree to all there stipulations and would it be worth the paper it was written on ?
I'd love to buy him - just so I can do what I want with him, against everything the seller dictates, I am very patient and can get through the two weeks trial smiling and saying nothing (I'm not a good liar)
