would you view a horse that had a kick

Knee/fetlock - prob not, highly movable joints (would ask for xray)
cannon - yes, bought one, passed sound by vet

If it wasn't a bad kick, was a few years ago and the horse is fine now....then yes I would go to view at least. Most horses would have been kicked at some point in their lives :)

Agree with Umbongo. And have the horse vetted. Also you could always ask the owner for permission to talk to their vets, then you will know whether this caused any more problems than the seller initially told you. (If they refuse permission to talk to the vets then that would be enough for me to say no and not take it any further).

I wouldn't write it off but I would want to know how long the horse was lame for after the initial injury - has it spent the last 20 months in the field.... I wouldnt be interested if it was being sold from the field. I would look at general fitness of the horse now and what work it was doing as sometimes these injuries can be fine in light work and only show themselves as a problem when the horse is in harder work, and lastly I would want to personally clarify everything with their vet.
