10 years ago I sold my mare to a dealer in the local area, as I couldnt sell her privately as she was quite nasty, napped every time I rode her and was just unsellable.

I have always wanted to know what happened to her, but am really worried about phoning the dealer. He did say when he bought her that he didnt want people phoning up in 10 years time wanting to know where the horses went, as he honestly didnt keep records!

So would you just remember the good times and move on, or phone him and try and trace where she went? I dont know what to do.

Hi Super-Kat, I have done that on the stolen/tracing section in here and also on tracing-equines, but no luck. I have contacted Farmkey to check the details registered on her, but they are still under my name.

I think deep down I know what happened, as she really was a handful and Im not sure who would have taken her on. I really regret selling her to a dealer, but at the time it seemed the only option open to me.

tbh i would be surprised if the dealer could remember the mare, nevermind where she went.

i often wonder where old ponies are now, even though they were sold privately, but i think i'm best not knowing, and as you say, remember the good old days! but if you do want to try and trace her local ads would be best.

Must admit I would be very nervous phoning the dealer. Like you say he probably wouldnt remember her anyway. It's strange I havent thought about it for years, but with the whole Spindles Farm attrocity, it just made me think 'god she could have ended up there'.
I think I should leave it and like you say remember the good old days.

Remember the good old days and if ever in that situation again dont sell to a dealer!!!

I am not sure they know or really care where the horses go to as long as they get a bit of profit out of the sale
