Would you lend your car and trailer to a friend for day(if could get insured). If it was just car I wouldn't mind but my trailer not insured at all so if there was an accident I end up with no trailer and friend not used to towing. Good driver but what if has to reverse in small space etc when not used to doing it? Opinions please.

If I couldn't personally drive her and she was stuck without it I would agree but only on the absolute agreement that she pays for ANY damage (however cosmetic she might deem it to be!)- if she couldn't afford to insure it against damage or pay for potential damage then I wouldn't let her
... I would rather lose a friend over not allowing her to borrow something than lose a friend AND my trailer because she trashed it and refused/couldn't pay for it to be fixed!

I would and have done. I just think that its good to help someone out and if ever you are stuck in the future you know where you can turn.

Also I have borrowed someones truck and trailer and you are mighty careful when its not your own.

I have lent my disco and trailer to a friend who was very good to me in the past. It depends on how good the friend is and wheather you trust them or not.

I borrow trailers from two friends, but always use my car, however I know that if I needed to borrow a car as well they would lend those too. But, I've done a lot of towing over the years.

I've lent my horsebox out to one of those friends for three days.

Can your friend not get the trailer insured?

I loaned my trailer to a friend only a week ago. (She has her own Defender to tow with though). There was a clear understanding between us though that she would be responsible for any loss of/damage to the trailer from when she first drove it away from my place, to the moment she returned it.

I would be prepared to do this again, but I would need to not just know that person well - but to trust that person too (some people just don't inspire confidence in you, however long you've known them).

As for loaning my car as well - believe me - nobody would want to . They'd be too ashamed!
