If he actually looks as good as in the photos & I had him vetted & only wanted a hack then yes I would. I've had a few aged ponies though

whilst i couldnt sell a friend at that age - if he is what photo shows mmmm wow what a gorgeous horse and if passes a vet I would ef consider if was looking - honest if that photo is true then wow wow wow and creit to owner

Yeah, I don't know whether I would. Did have a pony get sold back to the "original" (bar breeder i think) owner though at 31!! But knew the person & it was like he'd done a full circle

I could never sell a horse that age, how can you assure its future?

Me neither FDC. It's just criminal to be selling on at that age, who knows who may then run it into the ground....or. Just turn a horse of that age out to grass and let it enjoy it's retirement in comfort. I despair.

I couldnt do it to much heart ache its fair to say you would be loseing the horse quite soon few years months who knows when they getto that age not to mention th eposs vets bills sorry i wouldnt x

I find it difficult to believe that those photo's are of a 30yr old TB.
I have always been totally disgusted by people trying to sell old horses. If the owner cannot keep the horse she could try to find a loaner/sharer or even give it to someone she knows and trusts as a field companion.
I find the idea of trying to make money out a horse this old very difficult to come to terms with.
If all other options are totally out of the question then my opinion is that to ensure the horse is not passed around it should be PTS. It is what I would do.

Lovely horse, he certainly doesn't look 30, no graying round the face or deep hollows round the eyes - are they recent photos?
Maybe the owner is testing the water to see what's out there and has other options up her sleeve. It is a huge risk taking him on because the best years are behind him and you never know what the future holds. He may go on for another 5 years or he may start to creak and then you are faced with retiring him.
One thing to consider is where you will be keeping him. I would hesitate to put an old horse in with the rough and tumble of a group of shod young rowdies at a livery yard for instance (unless he is used to it) they can easily get pushed off food or just not quick enough to get out of the way and get booted.
It is a huge risk selling at that age, as we all know it is not the home you sell to, it is where they can go after that.
