Went to catch sasha, she was in the sand round pen with one other, so other went to yard and I went to catch sasha... No way. She started walking round me in circle then trotting... As if I was lunging without a line, so I ignore her, she keeps circling me.. I've got carrots in hand and YO watching, I was not giving in. So turned my back on her and she stopped. Came towards me when I turned round she went away again, so we did this for 15 min or so then she came towards me. I took step back, she came to me again and I step back. Then she walked straight to me and I rewarded with a carrot.
I can't have my son not able to catch her. This is the first time she has done it. So I suppose we did a bit of join up!! Think she was testing us. She has been a bully this week with her turnout mate and we had to change horses about. She is finding her feet and confidence is growing so its battle of wills time.. She came from a big polo yard so has not had much one to one time.

How strange! Our ex polo mare did just the same today for the first time!

We too are starting to get a bit more personality coming through.

I hope it wasn't anything to do with our first outdoor chukkas in her new stock saddle yesterday.

My mare was the same today.
Spent 5 minutes galloping around the field like a loon, must be something in the air.

Thought sod it, and just carried on doing jobs and ignored her.
Fed the other pony and when she saw that, she decided that galloping around wasn't so much fun after all.:D

Well that is strange! Maybe they have some sort of thing about nice weather and not want to come in. I was only going to groom then put out again.. She has been an angel since we got her 4 wk ago. It's been really nice here last few days and she has been out all the time since Tuesday. Horses eh!
