Wound on his sheath

I think this must have happened when trying to get up in the stable. So I cleaned with warm water diluted hibiscrub etc, and left it at that - it wasnt painfull for him (either that or he is a VERY good boy!) and it wasnt bleeding out, just bled a little when I cleaned it. Swelling already started to reduce after about an hour.

So my question is, does that area heal well? Has anyone else had this sort of wound? How did you/would you deal with it?

PS its not as bad as it looks, just the phone camera is blurry so it looks doubly as wide if you know what I mean.

If he's that good, bless him, I'd put some wound gel on it, mainly to keep the flies off!
