Lil went in for her spay last Friday :(:o:eek: but everything went fine and she's been home recovering since! :D:cool:

We had a check-up Monday and vet was happy just said to look out for any "ruptures"

Today it's a little pink and raised, do you think it looks ok? It looks more pronounced on the left however if you look up the stomach there seems to be a muscle/ridge there anyway?

I can always nip back to vets but just wondering if I'm being pathetic mother :o:p

When we had ours done, it just stayed flat like the one side of yours, it looks a bit angry, I think I would get it checked, is it hot ?

Has she been licking it or left it alone, luckily ours left it alone

She hadn't been interested in it til yesterday, when she started trying.
She hasn't touched it today cause I've been with her, watching! Can nip her past the vets to take another look :)

ETA: its no hotter than she is, she's quite warm as sleeping most of the day

I would say it just healing around the stitches and they maybe getting tight. Personally I would put some manuka honey on it instead of getting antibiotics as it will help it heal and also gives some antibacterial effect.:)

ETA our old Irish Setter kept licking her wound and took her stitches out herself:rolleyes: BUT she kept it immaculately clean - so much so there was hardly a scar there:) Dogs saliva does act as antiinfective so let her lick it:)

Slinks, wont manuka honey make it IRRRRRRESISTABLE? :D

atm the cone is a bone of contention...it's causing more problems than it solves currently...

Pip had hers out 2 Fridays ago, exactly the same, checkup was fine then a day or 2 later got angry like that. Best thing to do is to leave it totally alone, got told it was the stitches getting tight & digging in due to fluid & the fluid would go as soon as the stitches were out. That's exactly what happened & the day they came out it calmed right down but we kept pips comfy collar on an extra 2 days as it was still itchy & she wanted to lick.

We found it calmed down after she had her lead walks as the fluid would disperse loosening the stitches slightly.

Betty's looked a bit like that (but were a bit oozy when squeezed...!) and i just gave them a quick wash with hibbiscrub, and got the stitches taken out within the next couple of days- the wound had completely healed, but the stitches were getting too tight- the pus was just from the stitch holes which were digging in.

xx

Thanks you two - thats exactly what it sounds/seems like here. Stitches look tight and uncomfortable mainly, will nip her back in tomorrow - thanks for replying x
