I've always praised south Essex as they have paid out £thousands for 3 different horses including Lou
However they've out done themselves

Over the last year I've had 2 lots of foot lameness due to imbalance on each foot
A nasty respiratory infection needing 3 lots if abs ventipulmin and steroids

Two separate treatments for gastric ulcers.
All of which they have paid promptly

Exclusion for ulcers does not exclude colic

No exclusion for respiratory (I even checked they said they did not seem it necessary) :)

Exclusion for feet will be lifted with letter from vet or farrier

And premium is only £22 more than last year
Gobsmacking :):)

They were fantastic when I was with them with my old pony. Never had a bad thing to say about them.

I had numerous things go wrong with my pony and only got an exclusion for arthritis/djd because the accident he had would most likely cause these. His knees were also excluded but it was one hell of an accident and went well over the vets fees they would pay!

May see about going with them with my younger pony because of the problems I'm having with a different company.

I've had similar experiences with NFU. Exclusions lifted with letter from vet and never quibbled a single claim :-)

Wish I could say the same! Just got my renewal from NFU. They have increased my payments by £200 per year!! I knew it would go up as I have an open claim for liver problems earlier in the year which are completely resolved but I thought it might be £50 or so. Needless to say I'm looking into different insurers!

NFU didn't put mine up at all even after OCD op. Did decline to cover his hind legs anymore though, fair enough.
