I'm yearning (yes - really 'yearning') for a WOW saddle. I've been riding in one for this past week, and the feel is amazing. I actually said 'Wow' - honest.......

However - seeing as neither the 'club' or 'competitor' models are exactly cheap, which one actually represents best value for money?

I think we would need 'Flair', to allow for the slight asymmetry across Star's shoulders - but this is an upgrade on the 'club' model. Unsure really.

I've got a competitor & I LOVE it! Sorry, prob not much help. Can you change the flaps on the club? I've got jumping & dr flaps.

I haven't ridden in a Wow Club but one of the horses I ride has a Competitor and it is LUSH. I need one. Not that I have a horse of my own that I can ride, but I still need that saddle!
TBH if I was about to spend that sort of money on a saddle, I'd go the whole hog and get the more expensive one.

Id go with the competitor tbh. From what i remember, the flaps arent changeable on the club and if you're upgrading to the flair anyway.. why not just go the whole way?

Yea, theyre expensive - but it should be the last saddle you'll ever need to buy so well worth it imo!

Bit like buying a really good piece of timeless jewelry

hi, new to all this but had to say that not everything about WOW is great. I bought one for a mare taht was very sensitive n her back and although great to start with aftre about 4 months i had problems with it...air leaks and bags moving. dont think it dosent need watching if you do get one.

They need a gel pad underneath or the horses can feel the join where the air bags meet.

I looked at the Club, and wondered how long the padding would last.

I'd go for the competitor. With the club you can't change the flaps etc and its not as made to measure for you and your horse as I feel the competitor is. I have just bought one for my very sensitive horse and he loves it as do I. I don't find it heavy at all. Its no heaver than any other leather saddle though its a lot heavier than a synthetic saddle like a wintec. The new ones have aluminium plates not the steel plates they used to have.

Like anything else in life there may be problems and not everyone likes the same thing. So far I am very happy and my horse is very comfortable (he bucks when he doesn't like a saddle) so I would reccommend. They are expensive but I see it as a worthwhile investment. I no longer have to worry that in 6 months I may have spent a fortune on a saddle that I can no longer use as my horse has changed shape, nor do I have to worry that it won't fit any horse I may have in the future

I too would go for the competitor.
If cost is worrying you, what about looking for one second hand? I have just bought one from ebay for £650, black, dressage flaps. Cost me £70 to have it adjusted so it fits me and my boy, and it is perfect condition, absolutly mint
