I am so please with myself, I have to share it with you. I have gone from 9st 6 to 8 st 13 in 1 week, just by cutting out carbs and cutting down on chocolate. I am 40 yrs old in Sept and I done this when lost weight when I was 29 going on 30 I think it is a mid life crisis thing. I am aiming for 8stone now I am 5ft 4. I have got till Sept so a few months to do it in.

Oh well done!

I weighed myself this morning I found that I've got middle aged spread. I'm now 10lb over what I should be. I'm 36 & a petite 5 ft 1 1/2 & I'm most comfortable at 7 st 12 to 8 st 1. This am I weighed 8 st 7.8 which is quite podgy for me.

Been good & eaten normally today but with no snacking & I'm sooooo hungry.

Good luck! Don't give up!!

I have always been a yoyo dieter and always losing half a stone and gaining half a stone, my down fall is chocolate and crisps. I can't cut down so I almost have to give up. It annoys me as I am a vegetarian, I dont like butter, or milk either, I hate fatty foods. I was a size 12-14 all through my 20s then managed to get to a size 8 at 30 yrs old and I know I am only a size 10 now but a size 8 suits me more and I am worried about middle age spread. Oh us girls we do worry about our weight dont we, but its bad enough being 40 without being overweight too.

Well ever since I swapped from vegetarian to vegan I've struggled with my weight because I stopped having constant IBS virtually overnight.

No more not eating cos I've got stomach ache, no more days spent on the loo...

Quite annoying as I thought all vegans were effortlessly thin.

Well I am a strange one, I am nearly 11 stone but fit into a size 8!?! Only 5ft 6 inch so where does the excess go? No my hubby is not an illusionist, lol.

I'd need to grate my thighs to lose 7lbs.....
Just wait til the next Ice Age hits...I'll still be here while you skinnies will have perished...

Well since having damaged my back I have not been able to ride, walk (always walked for miles regularly) or do much of anything. In 5 weeks I have put 8lbs on and can only put it down to lack of exercise. I have just managed to walk my horse out in hand for the second time and I was huffing more than him...only two miles!!! I am having to seriously cut down on food to compensate because I cannot afford to put weight on being 5ft 4 and having been grossly overweight for a good 18 years of my life when younger...it is easy to put back on again!

Sorry I have to hate you

I am 5' and nearly 10 stone, and a size 14 and have hit the mid 40s spread.

I have given up all forms of snacks, sweets, booze, eat sensibly, lots of fruit and veg, increased my exercise a little and lost - Zilch in three weeks.

I have the consitution of a welsh cob

Think I will have to live on slimfast and green leaves again.

Luckily Chancer is going to be a big cob so I will match him - nice and chunky.

Sizing is weird isn't it. I'm 5ft 1 1/2 and currently a whopping 10 stone 8 llbs, but I'm a size 10/12. How does that work?

Back on my magic diet again, I got down to 9 and half stone last year and really not sure I could go any lighter as I was getting dizzy spells and feeling faint.

Ah well I'll keep trying. But I'm shorter than the original poster and I am certain that if I hit 8 stone I'd be ill.

Tell me about it - I was at one point 7 1/2 stone and a size 8 and had to half kill myself to keep below 8 stone. Used to be happier at 81/2 and a size 10.

In my teens I was skinny and ate everything, my 20s slim with hardly any effort, my 30s slim with a struggle and now in my 40s I seem to have got stuck at 91/2 - 10 stone - rarely get fatter but so hard to get down to below 9 1/2. All gone to my boobs and hips.

That said, I feel healthy, my OH likes my happy and chubby - he feeds me when I look miserable on a diet, and I look good on a cob

I accuse my OH of being a feeder to, have had to get quite stern with him about it.

Unforutnaly no cob for me just me lovely little andalucian so I need to loose some weight.

Still miles better than the 12 1/2 stone I was this time last year though

I can be so good on a diet, then OH sees me looking miserable and goes and gets me something scrummy from Tescos Finest which he knows I cannot resist.

He says I make a far better pillow on the sofa now - no bones sticking out.

Final tip - always have an OH that (1) is fatter than you and (2) loves you for what you are and not your looks - mine likes me without makeup, just back from the horse covered in mud and hair - says it is the real me and not some made up doll.

Congrats, that's brilliant!

I have started going to the gym again after a couple of months off. I have a lot of motivation, as I need to lose about a stone and a half to start having riding lessons again. We have a really good diet, but unfortunately I am not one of those people who can lose weight by diet alone <sob>

I lost 3 lbs in 10 days, so it's not quite as good as you, but all progress is great! Keep up the good work.

Thank you for your post - I really need motivatation as am seriously overweight. Have already kicked a serious chocolate habit (very good for confidence - if you can give up chocolate you can do ANYTHING).

My excuse for weight is that I have the same constitution as my Connemara boy - a doctor recently told me it is called the "famine gene" - bred to survive on air. We need to be marched out daily for long walks and have our grub kept to the bare essentials. Unfortunately the past few months this regime has slipped so we're both disgracefully thick around the middle. Connie boy is now on scruffy corner of field and I'm doing Weightwatchers! By the end of summer we'll be both be toned, fit and ready for Burghley (the shopping, that is).

PS - Have got seriously addicted to HHO over the last two months but only posted once before - will try and do the photo thing and post photo of Fatboy - tho maybe sitting at my new computer has contributed to my own jumbo waistline.
