....what flaps do you have on your saddle and what angle do you have them on?
I've had my wow for a long time now and there weren't very many options back then when I bought it. I have a GP with a small moveable block. I've been very happy with it but now we are back BSJAing again I don't find it gives me enough support over bigger fences - particularly if Jenny puts in one of her huge jumps and really flicks her back end up - I find my leg is swinging all over the place.
My instructor really dislikes my saddle and really thinks I need something with more support. My saddler (mainly dressagey person) thinks its fine but agreed to lend me a set of cross country flaps to try out as she doesn't really rate the SJ flaps.
I tried them for the first time today on a XC ride and can't say that they gave me any more support than my GPs. I had the flaps in the forward position and found the little block at the top was nowhere near my leg and my knee was hardly into the knee roll.
I've changed the position of the flap to the back position and will try again tomorrow in the hope that the knee roll and block will be in a better position. I'm quite short in the thigh and I'm not sure these flaps are quite suitable for me because of this.
Does anyone have the SJ flaps and how do they find them - I just wondered if they were perhaps a bit less forward cut then the XC flaps and might then suit me better. Saddler didn't really say what she disliked about them just that she liked the XC ones better. I will try the XC ones in the new position tomorrow but if there isn't that much difference to today I think I'll end up sticking to the GPs.
Thanks.
