Hi

Been looking into buying a second hand wow saddles since using a flair saddle on my boy and seeing a huge improvement :-)

Been researching on the net and struggling to work out which panel would suit him? He has high withers, and normally takes a medium width. Most of the ones for sale tend to be with the dwg panels but don't think these would suit? Looking at the website? If anyone's selling one also please get in touch x

Also would it be economically viable to buy a saddle with the right seat/flaps and then sell the panel and buy a new panel? Not sure how much they sell for etc?

It would be well worth your while getting a good WOW fitter out to have your horse assessed for panel style, depending on how high the withers are and which headplate is needed will dictate which panel, I would have thought a DWG would be right, if very high withered then DWH with tabs would be best, or you may need to find a DD panel or DWG without stitchline to give more lift around the front. Do you know what style of seat/flaps you are looking for as one of my clients has a dressage and a xc for sale as horse no longer in work

Thanks for your help, wasn't sure if I would be able to get a fitter out when I need to purchase second hand? Want dressage flaps :)

To be honest his High withers have never been a major concern when having saddles, but didn't want to purchase something completely wrong!

If u could let me know details of the saddles for sale via pm that would be great :)

You should be fine with just DWG, unless you have massive hollows - ice cream scoop style! Then yes you may need DD panels

Personally I would get your horse fitted by a WOW fitter and get their opinion. You can then look for your perfect saddle second hand and get it fitted. Most fitters don't mind, as you are paying for their time

I can fit my own saddles, but I had a fitter out this weekend, as I really value that second pair of eyes and plus clipping up valves whilst trying to sit perfect still is a bit of an art!!
