I have just swapped the flaps on a redundant wow saddle to dressage ones.

As a result I now have a lovely 'new' dressage saddle and a spare pair of jumping flaps that will need a home.

I shall put them on ebay when I can find the camera.

What should I ask for them.

Fixed block jumping with a good knee block and no thigh block.

main body of flap is mid brown or nutmeg (can't quite decide which) and blocks are dark brown. They are 12 months old but with very little use. No damage.

Retail new at £485!

Any ideas - I have been told that they rarely come up secondhand and generally go for more secondhand than dressage flaps.

I have the same but in black (with thigh blocks) so will be interested to see what people say. Mine have only been used 2n or 3 times. I really need to sell the whole saddle though, with its giant block dressage flaps, girth etc etc. Sadly my horse died and the WOW wasn't suitable for either of the two new horses I have - though I do hack out in it occassionally. I want another Amerigo dressage saddle or to try the new Prestige dressage saddle. Please father christmas??????

The ones on eBay have fetched £147 and £195, these were dressage flaps

I would be surprised if you get more than £250 for them, wow's have pants secondhand values. Probably because you have to spend so much on fitters!

My fitter is great. I have bought a pump and she has trained me to make adjustments where necessary, I can adjust a saddle if there are no major problems with the horse and rider.

It's quite easy to do if you have a reasonable understanding of how it works and how the horse moves and is built.

Anything major I get a fitter out.

I am happy to alter headplates and change flaps too, it's really easy to see which size headplate a horse needs once you have been shown.

I would not do this for anyone elses horse though.
