I just wondering what type of saddles those with WOW saddles had previously, and how they compared?

I am thinking of getting one for Troy when the time comes to back him, I know it is two years away... I like the look of them because they can be altered and I would like to get Troy a good saddle straight away as I don't really have any spare ones, but I would like one that I can alter.

ETS: I have two Albion SLKs for Han and Grace

Prior to my WOW's i has a KN that i had converted to Flair. I had Passier , Albion and Amerigo none of which gave me the fit and flexablity of the WOW. I have 3 'generations of the WOW and love them all.
You do need a good fitter and one that works with them all the time they need understanding to be fitted best for you and your horse.

Ive been through so many

When i was SJing i used mainly pessoas, prestige and jaguars. I really loved the pessoas as i really do like flat seats

Had a couple of stubbens around that time too but they were replaced with the prestige saddles as my osteo at the time (gavin schofield) slated them on the horses back.

Since switching more to the flatwork, ive had amerigos, albions, another jaguar and then the wows.

I have to say, deep down, if i could get hold of an old style pessoa (before fieldhouse bought them out and ruined them) and i thought it would fit jack, id buy one just for the odd time i just because i LOVED them.

Annoyingly, when i had my last one, the saddler who fitted it for me warned me that the company were being sold and the quality would go down hill... she told me not to sell it

I stupidly did sell it and ive regretted so many times since. It fitted all my jumpers at the time but i doubt anything that flat would fit jack since hes got huge withers.

Love my wow now and i wouldnt go back for everyday riding

Previously I've had a Pessoa, an albion & a barry swain for jumping & an albion & heather moffatt for flatwork. I've now got a WOW with jumping & dr flaps.

I would def def never go back to a different saddle type. The WOW can be adjusted to counteract rider crookedness (from injury), my horse loves it & his topline has improved immensely & the airbags mean that I don't get backache. My position also looks after itself without me consciously having to think about it.

I do get fed up with changing the flaps because I BD & BSJA equally & do lessons in each equally, so I'm permanently changing them, but I do admit to being exceptionally lazy. It prob takes 15 mins to change them, once you know what you're doing.

I had a Stubben Seigfried and a Barnsby jumping saddle prior to getting my WOW and there is absolutely no comparison! I would never go back to another saddle now either.

I don't have a Wow myself but I ride a horse who does. I've only ever ridden her in the Wow though, but she had a Wintec before and her owner now loves her Wow. I personally have Wintecs and like them, and I've ridden in a fair few saddles (my favourite is Ideal, and I hate Albions). TBH I think if you find you like Wows, there's honestly no comparison to anything else. I LOVE the one I ride in, so much so that I shall be saving up to buy one for myself (once I've saved up enough to buy the horse in the first place!). It's like nothing I've ever sat in before.
I also think that if I had a youngster, I'd much prefer to buy a cheapie old saddle off eBay to use first. I'm terrified of damaging my friend's Wow and would hate to have it anywhere near even the most sane youngster.

I had a Passier before on this horse, it was ok but the pannals were very hard- as was the seat!
Becki, much as I love wow's and wouldn't have anything else now, they are quite heavy. I'm not sure it would be my first choice for a youngster?

We had Partoow's KN with flair and have just got a wow.She took a bit of convincing and would have loved the KN but I think it is going to be perfect for them both.[Partoow wouldn't sell the KN, she also loves it]

Thanks everyone... I want to buy a saddle that I can keep for Troy because I made the mistake of buying a temporary one for Grace and ended up losing money on it and it never fit her properly to start with. I don't want to make the same mistake with Troy. I want him in a good saddle that fits him at every stage, which is why I was looking at the WOW saddles.

Me too, I sold my pessoa dressage, it was quite possibly the worst thing I ever did. Was a superb saddle, and I loved the flat seat it had even though it was for dressage!
