I have a WOW saddle which when I bought it, I thought would fit any horse, but despite changing the gullet, I can't get it to fit my new KWPN. I think this could be due to the fact some warmbloods have wide spines and the Wow doesnt have a gullet wide enough.

Anyone got any suggestions for saddles with a wide gullet which might suit a warmblood?

Also does anyone know any good places to sell the saddle and the extra parts?

Oh dear - no it isn't quite as simple as that!

Do you have a flat or curved tree?
What panels do you have?

I doubt its the width of your gullet on the panels, more likely the wrong panels and if you bought second hand there is a high chance you got SD panels which only fit horses with barrel shapes

Have you got photos?

I have no idea! The saddle was made for me but for a different horse. I dont have any photos but could take some if you think that might help identify the panels I have?

Either see a dealer and get your panel swapped for one with a wider gullet, or buy a panel with a wider gullet off eBay if you know enough to fit the saddle yourself and have a pump kit.

There are lots of WOW panel combinations, many with wide and extra wide gullets, you just don't have the right panel for your horse. One of the commonest panels sold on eBay is the SDWG, which stands for "wide gullet", though it's possible your WB has such a thick backbone that he would need it even wider.

I would suggest you get a qualified fitter but from experience would suggest you need a wow seat with a curved tree, fitted with DWG panels (WG stands for wide gullet) (D has a front gusset) with tabs and a stich line (or no stich line if your horse has extremely broad withers/ shoulder and hollows behind and you need extra lift.) A wow will only fit your horse's conformation if you get the multitude of combinations right on the panel and seat specifications. You can then change the headplate to suit the width at the base of the withers as your horse puts on more or less topline. Hope that helps :-)

PS. Go on the wow saddles/ FTE website - they have lots of information and guides on there to help you find the right panel spec for your horse.

Pinkerbell it sounds like your a bit confused about things. Really the best thing you can do is to ring wow on Monday and ask them for the number of your nearest retailer. I know the wow saddles very well and they have the widest range of fittings there are.
