wow - what a difference riding in a saddle that fits your horse AND you!

Oh wow!!
I was riding in a crummy synthetic GP saddle which was really uncomfortable for me, didn't fit me and although seemed to fit my mare was generally not enjoyable and now it seems my mare felt the same..........
I tried a very smart straight cut WH saddle, very much like a dressage saddle, and wow my mare was like a different horse! really forward going, really light in the hand and was really working long and low and really taking me forward!! normally i had to nag with the leg, and she didnt seem to want to go forward, hence time for a new saddle!
Its made me ride FIVE (not 4 as thought) holes longer putting me in a much better position, i actually feel really secure in the deeper seat and its much more enjoyable!
The other one was obviously restricting her shoulder (shes a cob with very big shoulders) and maybe even pinching her
Still onwards and upwards with the WH!!

Wow!!

Same for me I was riding in a GP saddle where my knees shot over the end of the knee rolls and in the end didn't fit horse and i was terrible in it and insecure
With a saddle that fitted ME and my horse he was so much more free in his movement. As I was balanced it was easier for him - if your unbalanced it's difficult for the horse
With my saddle my legs are perfect on it and as it's monoflap the blocks are on top and it's super secure and even though it's a jump saddle my flatwork is 100% better as is my jumping i was able to lengthen my stirrups quite considerably and still feel secure !!
