Anyone got or had a WOW saddle? Just wondered what your thoughts were regards fit, comfort, does it allow your horse freedom of movement through shoulder etc etc. THANKS

Yes I've got one and had it for about 4 years now. I have the GP (there weren't as many options back then as there are now - now I would go for seperate jumping and dressage flaps).
I got mine because I was having a lot of problems with my horse's back and saddle fitting nightmares and it was an absolute godsend. Its made a huge difference to both my horse and me. It is extremely comfortable for both me and the horse and Jenny loved hers from day 1. It made a huge physical difference to her too. Her topline expanded rapidly because she was able to use her back muscles correctly - she went from a size 0 to a 2 within the first 6 months - that is the real benefit of this saddle - it can be adjusted so easily and on the spot without having to sent away to the saddler.
However I think most of us on here that have Wows would agree that getting an experienced and knowledgable fitter is very important as they aren't like your regular saddles and you need to know what you are doing with them to get that perfect fit.

yes and i love mine...had it for my last horse had jumping and dressage flaps...definatly improved her back and she was far comfier-she was hard to fit in other saddles.

now have it on my new one and so far so good.,

i have the XC flaps and a shallow seat. i love it, its so comfortable, and my lad loves it too. his jumps is so much tidier, he's discovered his extended trot and is generally much more balanced.
i very much like the fact that i can adjust the fit, and loved the amount of information that the fitter gave me about how to do it. they'ver been really helpful too with sorting out a couple of queries (on my part, what with being a bit thick) and the fitter came out on a saturday to help me when i was really confused!

We use WOWs on all of our horses and have the shallow and deep seats, and the jumping and dressage flaps.

Cant recommend them enough but the proof is in the fitting...

best to try one on your own horse...only you will know whether its for you and your GG....

Not sure where you are but cant recommend Fiona Reddick enough. Shes very thorough and if she doesnt think its suiting you, she wont sell it to you. Simple.

My share horse has one. She's a 15hh very wide and fairly stocky cob (coloured on far right of my sig if you have them turned on). She used to have a Wintec GP saddle and altohugh she and her owner got on with it, neither were comfortable really. I've only ever ridden her in the Wow but apparently she is loads better with it. She has a deep seat and VSD flaps. It fits her really well (despite it having to go a little far back to avoid being pushed back by the rolls of fat behind her shoulders

) and she has never bothered about it at all, although she has always (also with the Wintec) been a bit girthy. Personally I LOVE it and want one myself even though I currently don't have a rideable horse of my own! It's so comfortable and I feel so secure, and although I usually don't like VSDs this one makes me feel I could do anything from dressage to hunting in it.
Oh and it certainly does give Kit freedom through her shoulder. The points of contact are further back than normal saddles (as far as I can tell and I know very little about saddles, but it seems to give her far more room under the flap for her shoulder) and even the huge rolls of fat can fit fine! We shall soon see whether it allows her to change shape and lose enough weight to put some muscle on!

Where did you manage to get your saddle fitted by David? Do you have the H girth?

Am getting mine next Thursday - can't wait! I had lots of trouble finding a saddle my horse liked (he bucks to show his displeasure) - but he loved the WOW when I tried it.

My baby horse hated the one I got for him so I changed the gullet and I'm using it on my other 'adopted' ned and he loves it so I think it depends on the type of horse. I have heard that youngsters don't like the whole movement thing you get with the Wow as they feel insecure, quite how this was found out I don't know, as much as I asked Wills he wouldn't tell me but I'll have to get him another dressage saddle later this year and use my GP for the time being.

i had one fitted a few months ago (by a top, recommended fitter), and i absolutely loved it, it felt better for me than any jump/xc saddle i've ever sat on, but it didn't suit my mare at all. it brought a lump up beside her spine on one side, in spite of 2 repeat visits and different panels etc, so there was obviously a pressure point of some kind, probably where the air bags meet, i was told. i got a full refund, but the lump kept coming up for a couple of months, has only just stopped doing so. so, not a positive experience here.
also, just be aware also that someone was doing Blenheim XC last year in one and their tree broke during their round.

I love mine! I've got jumping & dr flaps. I don't have to think about my (previously hideous) position at all cos the saddle does it all for me! V secure position jumping & dr. Also Adrian is far softer & rounder & has built up loads of topline in a short space of time. & it's better for my wrecked sacro iliac joint than a HM seatbone saver - I don't get any aches or pains even from sitting trot.
