WPCS Show today... to say that I am on a high is an understatement!

Took Genie to the Avon and Borders WPCS Show at Leyland Court today... Got up at stupid am as I was in class 1 (Novice Ridden). She went really nicely even though we were in a snaffle (I actually had brakes!) and I was very pleased with 3rd place.

Then we had HOURS to wait, so Genie had a munch and a nap, and I did the same. Next class was Unregistered M&M, and I was thrilled with her when she won it!

She was absolutely hoof perfect and I couldn't stop smiling after.

Took her in the championship thinking that it would be a giggle and not expecting anything. The judges had us all do an individual show, and she was hoof perfect again... and... WE GOT RESERVE CHAMPION!!!!

Then took her in the supreme and was the only ridden so felt a bit daft doing a trot round like all the inhands, and didn't get pulled but really wasn't expecting to, and was just thrilled that the day had gone so well. She's really coming into herself and it's all coming together.

I love my pony.

What a fantastic result....I was going to take my arab so thought we might finally meet up but OH wanted to go to the Wiltshire Country and game fair, as it was his birthday I gave in. Good girl Genie.
 
Well done! You both look fab, on GRASS too, wow you're brave!! WPCS shows are tough so Im going to have a drink on you (any excuse but its a good one I think)!
 
well done! I had fun at the show but was glad I was only doing one class & ditched the tweed as it was so hot. Do you know who the show photographers were?

chris_j - you should have said you were coming! The show photographers were Pablo Pion. Do a search for them on google and they'll have photos up probably today.
 
Well done to you i was in the same class!! only my horses 3rd ever ridden class and the 1st one for 3 years. Your mare was a good girl and went really well so much credit to you!! i got a 5th (last ) but he was a good boy and didn't put a foot wrong he does tend to get up tight and stressy so i was over the moon.

Only thing i have to say about that show was the turnout compared to last year was bit of a let down there was some really nice eyecatchers in the 2008 show.

I didn't have transport last year so didn't get Genie out to the show, but this season's been great.
