Does anyone buy this off one of those suppliers that make their own and deliver in bulk nationwide? Not too much bulk as I don't have loads of storage space.

Just wondering how it compares to hay and Horsehage in quality and price.

Hi, I don’t use it at the moment but managed with some difficulty to get a quote from bailley haylage. They were unable to supply me due to low stock levels and not taking any new customers on till next harvest….so i got a quote for the 150 kg bales ( which having researched on this wonderful forum found most users said they were actually more like 120 kg) . you have to purchase minimum 3 pallets at a time with 8 bales on a pallet I worked out it was cheaper to continue to buy mole valley’s own brand high fibre haylage. I bought 2 pallets of that back in november and got a discounted rate of £6.25 per bale. I did have to load them by hand and then unload at home. I think they are only cheaper if you buy the really big bales but as I have 2 horses and a pony a big bale would have gone off before I could finish it and also I can,t move those about. Even the midsize bale would have been awkward to get off the pallets but if I could have saved money I would have managed. Horsehage is very expensive mole’s own brand is much more reasonable. Obviously these companies are having to factor in delivery too .

Thank you, that's very helpful. I only have two horses so also need small bales. I'll have a look at Mole Valley, but it still seems a lot more expensive than hay, even with the discount. A lot cheaper than horsehage though!
