Has anyone else found that their seat on their WOW has gone a bit wrinkly in the centre? I am seriously p*ssd off as mine is only 6 months old and I've never over oiled it (having managed to buy a lovely albion for a few hundred quid from my saddler because it had been over oiled I know the damage it can do!)

In fact the seat has probably only ever been wiped over with a warm damp cloth to get rid of any dirt - has it gone wrinkly because I'm not feeding the leather enough?

Or is it a WOW thing? If so I'm very annoyed!

my old wow had a really wrinkly seat but had been totally over oiled
i now have a 6month old wow which looks brand new i have only used what wow recommend on the leather
i also have a wow thats a couple of years old, not been looked after (ETA was like that when i bought it but size 0 are few and far between second hand) all the fittings have gone rusty the flaps were moldy where they fasten on to the seat, and the seat looks ok just a slight wrinkle where its narrowest but it had a size 0 in when i got it and now has a size 5 in it now

This happens a lot. It may be that you NEED to oil it. I bought one with seriously bad wrinkles, stripped it with meths and oiled it day after day until it didn't soak in within five minutes. Now it looks like new. Some saddle dressings seem to make them worse by leaving a coating on them and you have to get the coating off first to make the oil soak in.

I think it is just what happens because they are jointed and twist around as the horse moves, but then that's the whole point of them

!

Hope that helps.
