Wrist Supports for riding - Recommendations

Sorry ant help with supports, but perhaps using a gyroball, I think is what they are called, would help build muscle to help support the wrist? As in for a longer term fix to work alongside a support. They have a pull cord which spins a ball inside the outer shell and you hold it as long as you can while spinning it with wrist action.
 
Thanks for suggestion, I'd forgotten about these, my hubby has one but not used it for ages - will hunt it out ! Yes dd needs to build up strength in her muscles, she's extremely hypermobile, especially in her wrists and ankles.
 
Aha, I think I can help here.

I have used all sorts of wrist supports, including huge ones with metal in. TBH I don'tlike riding in those as I think they may do more damage if I do fall off! I have used Neoprene ones too,they are OK.

But...

The best I have found looks so small and inconspicuous.It is really good though. I have had people at work have a wrist crisis, and I always have it in my bag in case I have a wrist crisis, and I offer it, and people tell me it will be no good as they need a big wrist support, but they borrow it as that is all that is available, and without exception they buy one!

Thank you ! for the money, it's worth trying. Looks fairly lightweight, which I know it will have to be else I'll get 'it's not comfy !'
Together with using a gyroball, both will help I am sure.
 
I also have hypermobility, diagnosed as a kid, and was told to could get better with growing up or get worse, mine got worse :(. Feel free to PM if you have any concerns or need advice.
 
Vet wrap! I am forever strapping my wrists up in the stuff! Mainly due to my cysts. You can't beat a bit of vetwrap and duct tape! The only issue I find is I need someone to cut the vetwrap for me as I put it on my right wrist and can't use scissors left handed ...
 
I have always used 2" strapping tape, because it adheres to the skin it provides better support without needing to be tight which restricts circulation for me.

They are contoured around the thumb and you can adjust them as tight as you need. They're not too bulky either so you can still get riding gloves on over the top.
