I have a 6 year old mare who i am showing at the weekend... one problem! She keeps going on the wrong leg and i cant correct it

Has anyone got any idea's please?

Always ask in a corner and be really clear with your aids.

Lunge her, if she canters on the right leg on the lunge then it has to be something to do with you, maybe you are unbalancing her.

Ask over a pole or small cross pole.

Make sure that you only ask out of a really nice trot, when she is bending around your leg and relaxed.

Another thing to try is leg yielding across the school into the corner and then ask for the canter, this should hopefully get her hind leg steppng underneath her, helping her to push off and onto the right leg!

Get some professional help if you are really stuck!

I have had this problem with my girl and then it suddenly clicked with her (about 5 mins before a dressage test which was nice helpful!), I really need to set her up and ask out of a perfect trot, and be really clear with what i tell her to do. Unless you are just going for the experience, I would possibly think about not going to the show and sorting this out without the pressure.

You are probably not getting her balanced enough in the outside rein and she is not being supported enough with the outside leg , behind the girth. You do need to use your leg and have a clear inside leg and outside leg, clicking with the tongue is not the best way to ask or present yourself in the ring.
Another common rider error in this situation is throwing the shoulders forward over the inside shoulder and holding down on the inside rein at the same time. You really need to have the feeling that you carry the rein evenly in both hands and think of what it would feel like to do a transition on a balance beam rather than in a corridor as you will then have a better feel fo how vunerable that balance is and how important it is to provide support with the outside rein and leg. Also make sure you keep your body tall light and upright and let the hips lift you to the canter and keep the shoulders above the hips ALLL the time.
On the lunge you need to make sure you think about pushing from behind to the hand with the whip and not pulling the front around you. Ideally you should have little inside neck bend and the hindleg should step into the foreleg hoof print.
You really should get help from an instructor, and one that does really know what they are talking about not just one that uses the 'jargon' but does not know how to break it down to its component parts.
The legyeilding is a good exercise if you have control of the outside shoulder as it encourages forward connection to the outside rein.
Good luck.

I do everything you have just said partoow

Tryed the clicking thing today and she went on the right leg first time
