Will check out website, but I was under the impression that if they weren't taken out of the wild and rehomed they were culled?

I'm all for leaving them there (in an ideal world), but if they are not removed and rehomed they are liable to be shot by landowners and got rid of that way! They need to keep numbers down somehow (the plains were ruined by overgrazing in 1870s and will takes hundreds of years to recover). I love mustangs though and would love to see them left but the government will move them one way or another and it is best that they are taken out and rehomed rather than culled.
