Horse has active side bone and high ring bone in both front limbs. A chip off his pedal bone in one front foot with active bony remodelling.

Lamer after being in a stable, 1/10ths lame in walk in the field. Lamer with shoes on (currently barefoot)

WWYD?

I think here you really need someone with lots of experience in managing ringbone - definitely keep shoes off. A friend of mine has a cob with sidebone in both fronts and is only "sound" when turned out. Cannot be ridden. The x-rays look as if the devil has grown horns in there!

Have you tried calling EPAUK? They have a access to many specialists and there might be one near you? They are the only approved trimming body in the UK and have very experienced people. That's the best I can do. Alternatively, you could call up Nic Barker at Rockley farm. She is also very experienced in cases like this and if she can't help, she can definitely point you in the right direction.

I know what I am planning to do with him, I just wondered if anyone would do anything differently.....

He is self trimming currently and the "worst" foot is getting significantly smaller than the other
